The relationship between Usagi and Chibiusa is something that you would have to observe for awhile to understand it. At first glance it would seem like the two despise each other. But in actuality, the reason they fight in the first place is because they are so much alike! When Chibiusa first appeared in the R series, Usagi did not like her too much, which is quite understandable. This little kid falls out of the sky and suddenly she brainwashes your family into thinking that she is your cousin. On top of that, she becomes buddy buddy with your boyfriend and before you know it he dumps you and won’t tell you why, and spends a lot of his time with this mysterious little girl. Then, this little pink haired child tries to steal your ginzuishou and because of her, your friends are kidnapped into a spaceship. But while all of this is happening, Usagi figures out that Chibiusa is really a very lonely little kid. And she’s being pursued by 4 evil sisters who are trying to kill her. Somewhere in the midst of all this, Usagi develops a bond with her and would give her life to protect her. She also realized that she would miss Chibiusa dearly if she were to leave.

You can tell Usagi means a lot to Chibiusa because when she does leave for the future she always speaks to Usagi last and they both cry. Chibiusa would never tell her but Sailormoon is her hero (ine?). If you’ve seen the end of the SuperS series, if the two really hate each other, ask yourself this question. “Would Sailormoon have dove off a building (way up in the sky somewhere!) just to save Chibimoon?” Of course NOT! And in the Sailor Star series when Chibiusa faded away, who was there sobbing? Why it was Usagi! Anyways, Usagi and Chibiusa are obviously very close and they do love each other.
